CCN Health, a rapidly growing patient monitoring software platform, wanted to improve the performance of its digital marketing funnel, from ad engagement to on-page conversion. After partnering with Surface AI, CCN Health saw a 136% uplift in their landing page conversion rate and a 55% reduction in their overall marketing cost-per-conversion.

Challenge
Before we kicked off our partnership, CCN Health faced familiar performance marketing challenges:
- Paid campaigns were generating traffic, but landing page conversion rates and campaign cost-per-conversion were sub optimal.
- Founders and employees were too busy to get in the weeds on endlessly tuning ad-bidding strategies, building new landing pages, adding custom data tracking, manually configuring A/B tests, and analyzing + decisioning on results.
CCN’s team turned to us to provide a solution that drove meaningful, high-quality inbound sales leads without bogging them down in the endless, tedious cycle of measuring, tuning, testing, etc.
Solution
We deployed our AI-driven optimization engine on CCN’s key marketing landing pages in June 2025 with the goal of improving conversion rates and CPA for email leads and booked demos. Integration was a quick 15-30 minute setup that only entailed a Javascript tag added to the individual landing pages via Webflow and Surface tags added in Google Tag Manager for existing down-funnel events.
Once integrated, the Surface platform automatically generated new headlines, button CTAs, layouts, and images in CCN Health’s defined brand voice. The Surface optimization engine then tested these new page variants against live traffic, using adaptive bandit-style algorithms. As more data and signal was collected, Surface automatically adjusted the page variants shown to users in different contexts to drive higher conversion rates over time.
As these optimization algorithms ran, we also leveraged performance data to inform new creative and landing page variants. Surface automatically created these new variants, and recommended them to the CCN Health team, where they further boosted conversions over time. This created our key user experience: an autonomous learning and optimization loop that sets Surface apart from traditional testing and CRO tools in terms of hands-off management and continuous long-term uplift.
In parallel, Surface collaborated with CCN’s marketing team to tune upstream ad campaigns, aligning creative and messaging with top-performing landing page variants.

Performance Deep Dive
Surface Landing Pages
Within 1-2 weeks of activation, Surface began uncovering higher-performing combinations of content and messaging that resonated with CCN’s target audiences. We saw significant conversion uplift in the first month.

After that initial uplift there was a period of consolidation as the Surface optimization engine converged on the best performing page content for specific contexts. During this steady state period, the Surface team was shipping further improvements to our algorithms and enabling a more autonomous creative feedback loop in the platform.
In August, along with these improvements, we pushed additional landing page themes and verticals aligned with updated CCN Health ad campaigns. Since this launch we’ve seen significant further uplift to the overall landing page conversion rate driven by Surface.
Ad Campaigns
Along with the Surface integration on CCN’s landing pages. We also assisted the CCN team in optimizing their Google Ads strategy. This was partly a mix of our general industry experience, and the insights generated from the Surface integration and optimization process on the landing pages. While the Surface product is hyper focused on driving conversion uplift and not positioned as a product analytics tool, we frequently find the learnings our platform provides through optimization being very informative and applicable to customer’s overall product marketing strategy.


At an ad campaign level, CCN saw an overall decrease in their cost-per-click, more efficiently driving traffic to their landing pages. This improvement was mostly independent of the Surface technology, but the data Surface generated on what messaging performed best on the CCN landing pages informed the upstream ad creative throughout the campaign.
Most importantly, CCN saw a significant decrease of 55% in their cost-per-conversion (qualified email lead). This reduction was partly assisted by a slight decrease in the cost-per-click of ads. However, the majority of it was driven by the significant 136% improvement Surface drove in the conversion rate on the final CCN landing pages.
